Sugar Cane
Our eco-friendly sugar cane products are made from a natural material called bagasse, a by- product of sugar cane production.
After the sugar cane juice is extracted, the canes are then turned into pulp. Water is then added to turn the sugar cane pulp into a paste, which can be
pressed to form a variety of products, such as plates, bowls, lids, and boxes.
How to correctly dispose of our sugar cane products
When properly dried and cleaned, sugar cane products can be recycled with paper. If food residue is present, sugar cane products and food waste can be composted together. Depending on the composting conditions, sugar cane products can biodegrade in anything from 2 weeks to 2 months. Some sugar cane products can decompose quickly in your garden compost heap.
The high cellulose and fibre content of bagasse makes the disposable products heat resistant.
They’re suitable for any dish, hot or cold, as they’re heat and moisture resistant. Since they’re made from a natural renewable resource, our sugar cane products are 100% compostable.
